Ice Storm

So much for April showers and May flowers… seems Old Man Winter doesn’t want to give up quite yet. Over the weekend our trees took a hell of a beating from the ice storm which rocked York Region.  I listened to the wind blow all last night, fingers crossed that none of our trees would come crashing into the house.

Back last fall, our home inspector had warned me that at least a couple of trees on our property were dead.  Of particular concern to him was a sugar maple on the south side which was large enough to do a fair bit of damage if it were to fall onto the neighbour’s garage.

Fortunately, all our trees made it through the storm, including the sugar maple, but the aftermath was something to behold.  Time to call someone for an estimate to have that sugar maple removed.
