Home, Sweet Home

After a whirlwind month of back and forth with real estate agents, lawyers, movers and utility companies, we moved into our new home on November 11th.  Overall, the move went smoothly and we’ve started on the monstrous task of unpacking all the boxes.  I feel both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time.

Our three cats and dog were very curious about their new digs and spent a fair bit of time investigating every nook and cranny.  However, they seem to be settling in as nicely as we are.  My little Kiki Monster has found a new heat register to call home, and the two boys, Spaz and Yoda, are reigning over their new domain in kingly kitty fashion.  My little Jovi, the youngest of the bunch at only six and a half months, made himself right at home the first night.

The first things we noticed about our new neighbourhood is the abundance of fresh air and the lack of traffic noise.  Our very first night we looked up at the stars and were amazed at how brilliantly they were twinkling in the evening sky.   The other morning, I caught a glimpse of a small deer disappearing into a grove of trees as I drove by on my way to work.

And speaking of driving to work, no more highway driving for me!  I can now take country back roads and arrive at work relaxed, refreshed and ready to go.

I feel like we’ve moved into our own tiny slice of paradise.
